Elizabeth Ann Shore
DUMAS - Elizabeth Ann Shore, 54, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in Dumas.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Mark Scott, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Beth Harrington by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.
Elizabeth Ann Shore was born Jan. 29, 1954, in Canadian to Lewis B. Hennig and Josephene B. Hand. She married Ken Shore in Dumas. She was a schoolteacher, diagnostician and a RTI coordinator. She had been a resident of Dumas for 17 years. Ann liked to be outdoors swimming and was a devoted QVC shopper.
Survivors include her husband, Ken; two sons, Benjamin J. Allison and wife Adrienne of Dumas and Matthew Allison and wife Jennefier of Dumas; a sister, Angela D. Hennig of Altus, Okla.; her mother, Betty Thomason of Canadian; and three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to the Ann Shore Memorial Scholarship, First United Methodist Church, 401 Binkley Ave., Dumas, TX 79029-3830; or the Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.

Orville Hill
Guymon, OK – Orville Carmen Hill, 79, lifelong area resident, passed away Wednesday, March 19th, 2008.
The son of Jennie (Jensen) and Lars Hill, he was born December 4, 1928 in Hansford County, Texas. Orville was confirmed and baptized in the Oslo Lutheran Church and graduated from Gruver High School in 1946. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War with honorable discharge in 1953. He was united in marriage to Mary Smith on April 3, 1965. Orville had been a farmer and had previously worked for Adam’s Hardfacing, Guymon Sheet Metal and McCullogh Tool Company.
Survivors include his sons, Larry Abla of Harvest, Alabama; and Chris Hill of Guymon; two sisters, Emma Gebhard of Guymon; and Ruth and husband, Marvin Pierce of Bartlesville, OK; two brothers, Clifford Hill and wife, Ruby; and Richard Hill and wife, Linda, all of Guymon; and a grandson, Justin Abla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Hill, who passed away in 1980; and two brothers, Arthur Hill and Leonard Hill.
Funeral services will be Monday afternoon, March 24th at 2:00 PM at the Henson-Novak Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Wescoatt, of Trinity Lutheran Church, Guymon, officiating. Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery under the direction of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon.

Louis "Louie" Cluck Bretz
AMARILLO - Louis "Louie" Cluck Bretz, 52, of Amarillo died Tuesday, March 18, 2008.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Monday in Gruver Cemetery in Gruver with Jim York, minister of Church of Christ in Stinnett, officiating. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. Bretz was born Aug. 15, 1955, in Perryton to Louis and Mae Bretz. He graduated from Gruver High School and attended Wentworth Military Academy in Missouri. He had worked as a chemical sprayer for Terminix.
He will be missed by his family and his "Poker Buddies."
Survivors include two sons, Casey Bretz and Jesse Bretz, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Amy Bretz of Amarillo; a sister, Fern Bretz of Brevard, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Top of Texas AA, 1301 S. Taylor St., Amarillo, TX 79101.

Joe Hataway
DUMAS - Sheriff D. “Joe” Hataway – 65 passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008 in Dumas, Texas.
Services were be held at 2:00 p.m., March 19, 2008 at the Sunray Church of Christ with Joe Mitchell of Green Bay, Wisconsin officiating, assisted by Johnathan Zerby, minister of the church. Burial was in Lane Memorial Cemetery with flag detail by the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
D. Joe Hataway was born March 26, 1942 in Sunray, Texas to Homer Jay and Edith Marie Hataway. He was the middle child of seven children but was his mother’s favorite. He graduated from Sunray High School with the class of 1960. In 1961 he joined the National Guard. On November 22, 1963 he married Yvonne Farris in Dumas. He was actively involved helping with Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch for many years.
He joined the Amarillo Police Department and worked in Amarillo for five years. Joe graduated from the Department of Public Safety Academy in 1967 and was the Driver’s License Trooper in Borger for a year and then transferred to Knox City, Texas. He stayed in Knox City for two years and then transferred to Perryton. He remained a DPS Trooper in Perryton from 1971 to 1980. On August 1, 1980 Joe was elected to his first term as sheriff of Ochiltree County. He remained in office until his retirement on March 31, 2007.
Survivors include; his wife Yvonne of Sunray; sons, Joe Vaughn Hataway and wife, Tammie of Trinidad CO. and Jayson Lee Hataway and wife, Jennifer of Borger; daughters, Joy Dawn Blundell and husband Jim of Iowa Park, TX and Jana Marie Newman and husband Wilson of Graford, TX; brothers, Harold Hataway and wife, Annis and Jim Hataway and wife, Barbara all of Sunray, Donnie Hataway of Joplin, MO, sisters, Darlene Keeton and husband Buster of Enid, OK, Collene Seright of Albuquerque, NM, Marlene Irwin and husband Al of Midwest City, OK; ten grandchildren, many nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Sheriff James Robertson of Lipscomb County, Sheriff Bo DeArmond of Moore County, Sheriff Gary Evans of Hansford County, Sheriff Don Copeland of Gray County, Sheriff Jack Haile of Sherman County, Sheriff David Medlin of Oldham County, Sheriff Gary Henderson of Hemphill County and Sheriff Joel Richardson of Randall County. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Sheriff and Deputies of the Ochiltree County Sheriff’s Department.

Marie E. Jones
TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Marie E. Jones, 88, died Sunday, March 2, 2008.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008 in First Baptist Church with the Rev. David England, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home.
Marie Jones was born Sept. 11, 1919, in Logan, N.M., and was a longtime Tucumcari resident. She was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Stewart of Gray, Ky., and Clara Russell of DeLeon, Texas; six sons, Walter "Sonny" Jones of Morse, Texas, Bobby Jones of Fort Worth, Texas, Bennie Jones of London, Ky., Jessie "Butch" Jones of Tucumcari, Billy Jones of DeLeon and Tommy Jones of Tucumcari; 32 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Dwight Delbert Thomas
WHEELER - Dwight Delbert Thomas, 37, died Sunday, March 2, 2008, in Lubbock.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008 in Country Chapel Church with the Rev. Randy Stalls, pastor of McLean Cowboy Church in McLean and the Rev. Alan Morgan, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home.
Dwight Delbert Thomas was born Oct. 3, 1970, to Delbert and Jane Helm Thomas in Memphis. He graduated from Wheeler High School in 1989. He attended one year at Clarendon Junior College, attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University and graduated from Frank Phillips Junior College in Borger with an associate degree. Mr. Thomas was self-employed, working in the oil field business. He received the gift of life May 20, 2000, with a kidney transplant.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dude Helm of Memphis; and his grandmother, Ann Thomas of Pampa.
Survivors include his parents, Delbert and Jane Thomas of Guymon, Okla.; a daughter, Kylie Thomas of Gruver; a brother, Drew Thomas of Wheeler; his paternal grandfather, Jerrold Thomas of Pampa; and his maternal grandmother, Honeria Helm of Memphis.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Kylie Thomas Scholarship Fund, City National Bank, P.O. Box 1228, Guymon, OK 73942.

Ruth Jeoffroy Roper
Ruth Jeoffroy Roper (86) was born April 29, 1921 in Drummond, OK and passed away in her home in Flower Mound, TX on Feb 25, 2008.
Ruth was born in Drummond, OK to Roy and Grace (Lindley) Jeoffroy. Ruth moved to Perryton, TX with her parents and brothers, Ray and Archie. Ruth attended First through 12th Grade at Perryton. College followed, attending Texas State Women’s University in Denton, Tx (2 yrs) and West Texas State University in Canyon Texas (1 Yr).
Ruth and Roy Roper of Darrouzett, TX married July 23, 1941. During the years of service in the Air Force, Roy and Ruth were stationed in La Junta, CO and Riverside, CA. Roy served during World War II in the Pacific.
Roy and Ruth lived in Amarillo, where their four children were born. The family moved to a farm near Gruver, TX in 1956. In 1971 Roy and Ruth moved to Guadalajara, Mexico. In 1974 they moved to Arlington, TX, followed by a move to Dallas in 1975. In 1992 they moved to Flower Mound, TX. Roy and Ruth attended Valley Creek Church in Flower Mound.
Ruth served as Beta Sigma Phi Council President in Amarillo. She was responsible for organizing other Beta Sigma Phi chapters in the Texas Panhandle. Ruth served as 4-H leader and Boy Scout leader for many years in Hansford County.
Ruth was an expert seamstress, making many of her own clothes in high school, and later sewing for her children and grandchildren. Ruth had a sewing and alteration business while living in Dallas.
Ruth had the gift of hospitality. She was always sharing her exceptional dishes with others. She also enjoyed landscaping and growing flowers.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Roy Roper of Flower Mound, 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren and many wonderful neighbors and friends. Her children include Jeff Roper of Carrollton, TX.; Jan and husband, Lynn Stedje, of Gruver; Rick and wife, Judy of Granbury, TX; and Ronda Roper of Dallas. Grandchildren are Krista and husband Steven Davis, of Gruver; Jill and husband Sam Watson of Gruver; Lee Stedje and wife Becky of Gruver; Angela Roper of Granbury; Natalie Roper and Austin Roper of Dayton, TX, and step-grandchildren Andy and Randy Elliott of Granbury. Great grandchildren include Lori Watson and Michaela, Blaise Luke and Jobi Davis and Peyton Pinson.
Graveside services will be held Friday, February 29, at 10:30 am at DFW National Cemetery.

Dixie C. Tracy
SPEARMAN - Dixie C. Tracy, 87, died on Monday, Febraury 25, 2008.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Febraury 28, 2008 at Hansford Cemetery with Rev. Jim Medley and Jay Tracy officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mrs. Tracy was born July 25, 1920 in Liberal, MO. She had lived in the area since 1957. She married Everett Tracy on December 28, 1941 in Lamar, MD.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Twentieth Century Club, the Gladiola Flower Club and a former board member of the Hansford County Historical Society. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spearman.
Survivors include her husband, Everett, of the home; a son, Richard Tracy of Waco; a granddaughter and her husband, Amy Kathryn and Aaron Abel of The colony, TX; and a grandson and his wife, Jay Franklin and Jennifer Tracy of Waco.

Jean Byrd
Jean Byrd, 76, died on Wednesday, February 20, 2008.
Graveside services will be held at Hansford Cemetery on February 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bob Elder officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman
Jean was born on December 28, 1931 in Caddo Countyl, OK to William and Laura Ballard. She moved to Spearman in 1958.
She married Red Byrd in New Castle, TX on December 25, 1948. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Laura Ballard.
She is survived by her husband, Red Byrd of the home; a daughter, Tuwana Trout of Elkhart, KS; two sons, Dean Byrd of Amarillo, and Gene Byrd of Arpelar, OK; a sister, Billye MAckey of Bessemer, AL; a brother, Doug Ballard of Van Alstyne, TX; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Bobby Lee Hicks
GRUVER - Bobby Lee Hicks, 71, died Saturday, February 16, 2008, in Spearman.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2008 in Gruver United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Price officiating. Burial was in Gruver Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mr. Hicks was born Oct. 28, 1936, in rural Grayson County. Bobby graduated from Hale Center High School. He participated in the Hale Center Summer Baseball League and was an active member. He married Carolyn Ballard on Sept. 5, 1954, in Hale Center. In 1963, Bobby and Carolyn and children moved to a farm near Plainview. He was a member of the Evening Lions Club.
In 1967, the family moved to Gruver, where Bobby enjoyed playing on the men's volleyball team. He also participated in the American agriculture farm strike. He was an avid fan of his children's school activities. Bobby's favorite pastime in later years was going to the domino parlor and the Dairy Queen with the coffee bunch. He was a member of Gruver United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two infant sons.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Hicks and wife Rhonda of Gruver and Bobby Dale Hicks of Amarillo; a daughter, Susan Lancaster of Amarillo; a sister, Linda Mahagan of Hale Center; three granddaughters, Brandea Allen and husband Mark of Spearman, Chelsea Hicks of Perryton and Amanda Lancaster of Lubbock; two grandsons, Jordan Hicks of Gruver and Austin Lancaster of Amarillo; and two great-grandsons, Max Wright of Perryton and Matt Allen of Spearman.
The family suggests memorials be to Hansford Hospice, 707 Roland St., Spearman, TX 79081.

Weldon Green

GRUVER – Weldon Green, 83, died Wednesday, February 13, 2008.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15 at 3 p.m., in the Gruver Church of Christ with Gaylord Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Gruver Cemetery, under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Weldon was born to Coleman and Vivian Green on August 30, 1924 in Calisburg, Texas. He graduated from Gainesville High School and Abilene Christian College.
He married Elene Harland on July 27, 1948.
Weldon served the Lord as an Elder of Gruver Church of Christ. He served as a Hansford County Commissioner for six years and Hansford County Auditor for 29 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy.
He is survived by his wife Elene; two sons, Dee and wife Susan Green of Childress and Ron Green of Plano; two daughters, Genna Dunlap of Amarillo and Mittie and husband Dale Blackburn of Abilene; two brothers, R.C. and wife Betty Green of League City, TX and Bo and wife Becky Green of Abilene; three sisters, Adeline Wheeler of Albuquerque, NM, Virginia and husband John Alley of Springfield, MO, and Glenda Renner of Gruver; seven grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Cecil L. Reynolds
SPEARMAN – Cecil L. Reynolds, 86, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008.
Funeral services will be Saturday, February 16, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Christian Church with Jim Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery, under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Cecil was born on October 29, 1921 in Booker, TX. He married Ellen Hash on February 4, 1947.
Cecil was a member of the First Christian Church of Spearman. He farmed and ranched for a few years before becoming a licensed plumber in 1953. He was a plumbing contractor until his retirement in 2000. He was an Army veteran, serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was awarded a Bronze Star for Valor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas & Mattie Reynolds; his wife, Ellen Reynolds; a son, Virgil Reynolds; a daughter, Becky Peterson; and two sisters, Evelyn Yancey and Gertrude Reynolds.
He is survived by one daughter, Katherine and Mark Coventry of St. Charles, MO; three granddaughters, Michelle and Danny Griffith of Camp Hill, AL, April and Jason Stephens of Amarillo and Tasha and Rudy Rodriguez of Fort Worth; one grandson, Barry Goodall of St. Charles, MO; three great-granddaughters, Katherine Griffith of Camp  Hill, AL, Bonny York of Amarillo and Rane Rodriguez of Fort Worth; 11 great-grandsons, Brian and Brandon Ahlstrom of Camp Hill, AL; Kurtis and Jake Griffith of Camp Hill, AL, Chase Stephens of Amarillo, Christopher Goodall of Kansas, Camron Goodall of Indianapolis, IN, Alex, Rane and Nickolas Rodriguez of Fort worth; three brothers, Olanda and Anita Reynolds of Borger, Leslie and Billie Reynolds of San Antonio and Gene and Ramona Reynolds of Gruver; two sisters, Nathalie Turner and Dallasene Reynolds, both of Spearman.

B.J. Renner
GRUVER – B.J. Renner, 76, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 15, 2008 at 11 a.m., in the Gruver Church of Christ, with Gaylord Cook officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
B.J. was born in Hansford County on September 13, 1931. He married Glenda Green on June 25, 1964, in Gruver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Velma Renner, and one grandson, Boyd Leslie Pierson
He was a farmer and rancher, an Elder of the Gruver Church of Christ. He graduated from Abilene Christian College in 1958. B.J. served as a Hansford County Commissioner for 16 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda; two daughters, Viva Pierson of Amarillo and Anise Renner of Ada, OK; one son, Ross Renner of Amarillo; four sisters, Bobby Sue Dempsey of White Deer, Beryl Reynolds of Amarillo, Wanda Jo Russell of Round Rock, and Laveta Neal of Amarillo; two grandsons, Brit Pierson and B. W. Renner, both of Amarillo; three granddaughters, Sydney Pierson, Sabrina Pierson, Kelleye Horner, all of Amarillo; and two great-grandsons, Sean and Clay Horner of Amarillo.

Henry "Ted" Fowler
AMARILLO - Henry "Ted" Fowler, 67, of Amarillo, died Saturday, February 9, 2008.
Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2008 in Amarillo South Church. Arrangements were by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Directors, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Mr. Fowler was born Feb. 14, 1940, in Amarillo, to Henry Ray and IvaLee Fowler. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1958. Ted enlisted in the Navy and spent 12 years serving for his country. He was stationed on the USS Ranger as an Air Traffic Controller. Ted earned the Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, The Gold Star and The Navy Achievement Medal. After his military career, he returned home where he worked as a painter for the Amarillo Independent School District and retired after 25 years. He married Pat Stallings on Nov. 21, 1986, in Amarillo. Ted enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and, of course, the Dallas Cowboys. He loved to spend time with his family. Henry was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Elizabeth Talley and Debbie Kelley.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Fowler; four brothers, Michael Fowler and Roy Fowler, both of Goosecreek, S.C.; Gene Fowler and Richard Fowler, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Cookie Blakely of Spring and Teresa Jeoffroy and husband Joe of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Lisa Giles of Spearman; and a stepson, Michael Darter of Amarillo.

Alma Walker
SAN ANGELO, TX. – Alma Walker, 81, died Friday, February 8, 2008, in San Angelo, Texas.
Services were at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Oslo Lutheran Church, Gruver, Texas, with Pastor Arlen Lloyd officiating. Burial was in Oslo Lutheran Cemetery with arrangements made by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon, Oklahoma.
Alma was born October 20, 1926, in Hansford County to Peter and Florence Dahl. She married Joseph Walker on June 3, 1948, at Oslo Lutheran Church after attending West Texas A&M University (formerly West Texas State College) for two years.
She lived 71 years in the Oslo community, Hansford County, Texas before moving to San Angelo in 1997. In retirement she enjoyed being a demo person for Sam’s Club where she took pleasure in meeting and visiting with people and meeting many new friends.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Coletta Walker of Homer, Alaska; son and daughter-in-law, Floyd and Sherry Walker of Colton, Oregon; son and daughter-in-law, Milton and Debbie Walker of Guymon, Oklahoma; and daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Dan Gray of Wasilla, Alaska; one brother and sister-in-law, Elmo and Fay Dahl of Gruver, Texas; one sister, Pauline Fischer of Optima, Oklahoma, and one sister, Adeline Berkenkamp of Douglasville, Georgia; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph Walker in 1978; one son, Alfred Glen Walker, in 1984; a sister, Viola Monroe and a brother, Fred Dahl.

June Leary
MEMPHIS - June Leary, 88, died Friday, February 8, 2008.
Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2008 in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Boles officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery by Hughs Funeral Home.
June was born on Aug. 10, 1919, in Fort Worth, to the late Mr. Forrest Power and Mrs. Gladys Denny Power. She was a 1936 graduate of Memphis High School and went on to attend West Texas State University. She married Don Leary on Nov. 21, 1948, in Memphis in the First Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1983. She was a lifelong resident of Memphis and a member of the Red River Red Hatters Club. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church and later became a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three nieces, Betty Rogers of Dallas, Cathy Leary of New Orleans, La., and Susan Leary of Childress; six nephews, Paul Garner of San Diego, Calif., Bob Williams of Montgomery, Ala., Don Leary of Venezuela, Michael Leary of Seattle, Wash., Marvin Leary of Portland and Ed Leary of Childress; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Leary of Seattle, Wash.; special friend, Tom Bob Harrison of Memphis; four cousins, Linda Jane Davis of Greensboro, N.C., Carol Tollison of Gruver, Denny Roberts of Georgetown and Courtney Crisler of Amarillo; and many friends, neighbors and church family.

BORGER - Carma Sue Smith, 71, died Friday February 8, 2008 at home in Borger, Texas.

Carma was born on October 8, 1936 in Clebert, OK to Euwin and Cora Bell Herin. She married Montie Smith and was a devoted housewife to him and their six children. She was a lifelong resident of the Borger and Fritch areas. Carma's passions were yardwork and loving her grandbabies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 6 brothers and sisters and 2 grandbabies.

Thomas David Haines Jr.
ROSWELL, NM - A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2008 at First United Methodist Church for Thomas David Haines Jr., 51, of Roswell, who passed away January 8, 2008 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Rev. Archie Echols and Rev Steve Chappel officiated. A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m. central time, Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Gruver Cemetery, in Gruver, Texas.
He was born on October 30, 1956 in Dallas, TX to Thomas David Haines Sr. and Carol Mullins Haines. They survive him in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Tom married Nanette Cluck in Gruver, TX on March 1, 1986. She survives him at the family home.
Tom is also survived by his daughters: Bennett Haines and Maison Haines both of Roswell; his sister: Beth Haines of Denver, CO; his nephew: Samuel Cluck of Amarillo, TX; his niece: Maddie Cluck of Amarillo; his mother-in-law: Barbara Cluck of Gruver, TX; his brother in law: Brad Cluck and wife Mary of Amarillo, TX; and an aunt: Linda Frihart of Pittsburg, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Del Cluck.
Tom graduated from Del City High School. He was a Boys State delegate, serving as insurance commissioner, and was the assistant drum major in the Del City High School Band. He received his B.S. Degree in Political Science from Oklahoma State University in 1979 and was a member of the OSU Marching Band where he played the baritone. He received his J.D. Degree from the University of Oklahoma Law School in 1982. Following graduation, he joined Hinkle, Hensley, Shanor & Martin, L.L.P. as an associate. He became a partner in the firm in 1988. Tom loved his colleagues and his work. His love for the firm was evident in his gregarious presence, easy laugh, and caring personality. His colleagues will greatly miss the infectious joy and enthusiasm he brought to the firm. They will miss the fun of seeing Tom wearing a Santa suit joking with all as he handed out Christmas gifts at the firm’s annual Christmas party, or wearing a clown wig as he read funny poems that he wrote as tributes to people in the firm for various reasons. Tom’s enthusiasm was evident in his work as well. His commitment to his clients, his eye for detail, his careful research and preparation, and his thoughtful approach to his cases will be sorely missed. The legal community of New Mexico has lost a great friend and an excellent attorney.
Tom was a member of the Chaves County, New Mexico, and Oklahoma Bar Associations. He was admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, the New Mexico Supreme Court, and the Oklahoma Supreme Court. He was a member of the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association and Defense Research Institute. Tom was past President of the Chaves County Bar Association. The State Bar of New Mexico named the Chaves County Bar Association the Outstanding Local Bar Association for its work when Tom was President. Tom also served on the Local Rules Committee for the Chaves County Bar Association, and was a New Mexico Bar Foundation High School Mock Trial Judge.
He was a member of the George L. Reese, Jr., American Inn of Court. He also served on the Medical Legal Panel of New Mexico, and was a member of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the State of New Mexico. He served on the Chaves County Bar Association Law Day Committee and was a contributing editor to the New Mexico Tort and Worker's Compensation Reporter. He was also a contributing editor to the Employment Law Desk Book for New Mexico Employers, published by M. Lee Smith Publishers, L.L.C. (1997). He was a past Distinguished Secretary 1993-1995 and President 1998-1999 of the Roswell Kiwanis Club. He served as Chairman of the Administrative Council, Trustee, Stewardship Committee, and Youth Advisor at the First United Methodist Church of Roswell.
He was selected for inclusion in Who's Who in America, 54th Edition, (2000), Who's Who in American Law, Sixth edition, 1990-1991, and Outstanding Young Men of America. (1990). Tom enjoyed golfing, watching Oklahoma State University sports, and lady rocket volley ball.
Pallbearers will be Al Pitts, Greg Nibert, Rich Olson, Lee Rogers, Kelly Cassels, Glen Mattlage, Mark McClellan, and Jess Eckel. Honorary Pallbearers are the Attorneys and Staff of the Hinkle Law Firm.

Mary Trent
Hardesty, OK - Mary Trent, 82, passed away Thursday morning, August 2, 2007 at the Dunaway Manor in Guymon, Oklahoma.
The daughter of Dora Lucy (Hogue) and Barney Jackson, she was born May 16, 1925 in Marlin, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Warren George Trent on March 28, 1941. The Trents made their home in the Range Community where they farmed. Mrs. Trent was a loving and hard working mother and farm wife. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. After retirement the Trents moved to Gruver, Texas where Mrs. Trent was a member of Gruver United Methodist Church. Mr. Trent passed away in 1986.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra and husband, Gerald TeBeest of Gruver, TX; two sons, Buddy Trent and wife, Kathy of Dumas, TX and Danny Trent and wife, Cindy of Hardesty, OK; three sisters, Dora Abernathy of Guymon; Billie and husband, Cecil Weatherby of Turpin, OK; and Liz and husband, Jim Karber of Lubbock, TX; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Trent of Guymon and Evelyn Trent of Sparks, NV; and a brother-in-law, Barsey Trent and wife, Ruby of Woodward, OK. She is also survived by her five grandchildren and their spouses, Cheryl and Brad Powell, Kristi and Jason Joslyn; David and Shawnda Trent, Brian and Kim Trent; and Carmin and Joel Stark; and twelve great grandchildren, Zach and Blake Powell, Brendon, Dax and Ashlyn Joslyn, Dylan, Savanna, and Brooklyn Trent, Austin and Lindsey Trent, and Austin and Mia Stark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Lucille Bergman and Lee Gibson.

Carrol Clayton Shelton
Denton, TX - Carrol Clayton Shelton, 72, of Denton passed away Saturday, July 28, at the Presbyterian Hospital of Denton.
He was born Nov. 6, 1934 in Sayre, OK to Walter Tom Shelton and Tennie Ellen Green Shelton.
He attended Sayre public schools. He married Sadie Ann Lakey on April 6, 1956 in Sayre, OK. He attended Amazing Love Ministries Church.
Carrol was an Engineer for GTE and retired in 1993 after 32 years of employment.
A memorial service was held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 31 in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors with Rev. Gary Beal officiating.
Graveside services were held at Lone Oak Cemetery in Sayre OK on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at 2 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Shelton of Denton; daughters, Pamela Hill of Krum, Debra Canfield of Carrollton; sister, Addie Archer of Sayre OK; and two grandchildren.
His parents and a brother Calvin Shelton preceded him in death.

Ina Mae Gillispie Wayland

Vici, OK - Ina Mae Gillispie Wayland was born July 25, 1925 to Rolin Virgil and Pearl Fluitt at their home in Booker, Texas. She passed from this life, while a resident in the Vici Nursing Home, on July 26, 2007 at the age of 82 years and 1 day.
Ina Mae attended school at Perryton, Texas graduating with the Senior Class of 1945. Ina Mae was baptized at a young age and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Arnett, Okla.
Ina Mae Fluitt married Benjamin Franklin Gillispie on Dec. 26, 1948 at Stinnett, Texas. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of their four children, Ray, Frank, Ben Earl and Sylvia Mae.
Ina Mae and Ben lived in Spearman, Texas before moving to the ranch at Harmon, Okla. where they raised their family. They later moved into Arnett where they built their new home. Ina Mae enjoyed quilting, going to Bible studies, cooking for the church and especially spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
After Ben’s death in December, 1989 Ina Mae married Harold Wayland on April 7, 1995 in Arnett, Oklahoma. Ina Mae and Harold enjoyed their companionship with each other for several years before Harold became a resident of the Shattuck Nursing Center and Ina Mae a resident of the Vici Nursing Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Gillispie; her parents, Rolin Virgil and Pearl Fluitt; and an infant brother, Dale Virgil Fluitt; by brothers-in-law John Gillispie and wife Kathy, Jack Gillispie and wife Faye, Wilson McCloy, and Earl Henderson.
Ina Mae is survived by her husband, Harold Wayland of the Shattuck Nursing Center; by her children, Ray Gillispie of Harmon, Okla.; Frank Gillispie of Arnett, Okla. and by his children, Levi and wife Amy, Nichole and husband Ronnie, Hattie and Tyson; Ben Earl Gillispie of Harmon, Okla.; Sylvia Mae Head and husband Bob of Woodward, Okla. and her children, Traver Deweese and wife Amanda, and Alisha Mae Hutt and husband Mark; by sister, Virginia Trindle and husband John of Spearman, Texas; by brother, Wayne Fluitt and wife Margaret of Booker, Texas; by 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild; by sisters-in-law, Nan McCloy, Nell Henderson, and Sue McCloy and husband Thane; by several nieces, nephews, other family and many, many, friends.

ROBSTOWN, TX - Adefina “Fina” Barrientes, 99, of Robstown, TX, died Thursday, July 19, 2007.

Fina was born in Alice, TX on October 26, 1908 and was a long-time resident of Robstown, TX. She married Alberto Barrientes in Robstown, TX. She was a homemaker and life-long member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alberto Barrientes; two daughters, Eloisa Avalos of Robstown and Angelita Viallreal of San Antonio; and one son, Raul of Barrientes of Robstown.

Billie June Hanks Day

SAN ANGELO, TX - Billie June Hanks Day, 78 died on July 31, 2007 at her home in San Angelo, Texas.
June was born on July 6, 1929 at McCamey, Texas to Herman and Bonita “Nete” Hanks. She spent her early years in several West Texas and Panhandle towns, including McCamey, Crane, Kermit and Pampa. She met Glenn Day upon his return from U.S. Navy service during World War II. They were married in Pampa on October 24, 1948. Glenn and June raised two sons in Pampa and in Spearman, Texas. June worked as a bank teller, then as a bookkeeper in both the Hansford County Tax Office and the Spearman ISD Business Office. In the First Baptist Church of Spearman, she helped establish and coordinate the church’s prayer ministry, and she taught an Adult Ladies Sunday school class for more than 30 years. Since moving to Baptist Memorials of San Angelo in 1998, she and Glenn have been members of First Baptist Church.
June is survived by her husband, Glenn Day of San Angelo, Texas; son and daughter-in law, Carrol and Charlotte Day of Houston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Randy and Jody Day of Ft. Stockton, Texas, grandchildren: Collin and Kristin Day, Nick and Carissa Vann and Connor Day of Houston, Texas; Wayne and Rachel Nix of Brownwood, Texas; Armando and Jessica Ontiveros of Fort Stockton, Texas; Emily, Sarah, Nathan and Natalie Day of Fort Stockton, Texas; great-grandchildren Elijah Nix of Brownwood, Texas; sister and brother-in-law Mary Lou and Eugene Hogan of Midland, Texas; brother and sister-in-law H.A. SPEARMAN - Thomas Isaiah "Ti" Harbour II, 32, formerly of Spearman, died Friday, July 13, 2007.

Mr. Harbour was born Feb. 14, 1975, in Spearman. He married Sarah Sanger on Dec. 27, 1996, in Spearman.

He was an installation technician, installing oil field communications. He loved hunting, fishing, four wheeling and camping in the mountains. He attended Trinity Church in McLean.

DUMAS - John H. Taylor, 74, died Saturday, July 14, 2007.

Mr. Taylor was born June 22, 1933, in Afton to Virgil E. Taylor and Lola B. Morris. He married Lola M. Hiberd on March 8, 1953, in Matador.

Louise Heddins
GRUVER – Alice Louise Heddins, 75, passed away Wednesday, July 4th, 2007 in Liberal, Kansas.
The daughter of Claire (Griffin) and J.L. Coffey, she was born May 16, 1932 in Crosbyton, Texas. Louise graduated from Melrose, New Mexico High School with the Class of 1950. She was united in marriage to Don Heddins on August 20, 1978 in Friona, Texas.
The Heddins made their home in Gruver where Louise was active in her church and community. She was a member of First Baptist Church, a member of the Red Hat Club and TOPS. Louise had a passion for caring for others, while being a devoted Hospice Volunteer. She enjoyed painting and selling Premier Design Jewelry in her spare time. Louise loved spending time at their cabin in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
Survivors include her husband, Don Heddins of the home in Gruver; her children, Jerry Hawkins and wife, Donna of Logan, NM; Roy Hawkins and wife, Connie of Guymon, OK; Monty Hawkins and wife, Shelley of Perry, OK; Donna McCubbin and husband, Ray; Rhonda Smith; and Kristie Kennedy and husband, John all of Spearman, TX; James Heddins and wife, Michelle of Williston, FL; Tim Heddins and wife, Zenith of Hereford, TX. She is also survived by two brothers, Herman Coffey and wife, Thelma of Belen, NM and Leon Coffey and wife, Laura of Logan, NM; two sisters, Ollie May Henry of Big Spring, TX; and Wanda Richmond of Logan, NM; sisters-in-law, Lola Mae Coffey of Melrose, NM; Thelma Coffey of Clovis, NM; Jeanie Coffey of Cleburne, TX; Mary Scrivner of Ft. Myers, FL; brother-in-law, Bill Heddins of Neoga, IL; seventeen grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

DUMAS - Calving Gex "Lad" Boothby, 52, died Thursday, June 21, 2007 in Wichita, Kan.

Lad was born Nov. 19, 1954, in Guymon, Okla. He graduated from Texhoma High School and then Midwest Christian College. He earned a master degree from Texas A&M in Corpus Christi and later received his Ph.D.
He married Myra Myers on Aug. 8, 1999, in Canyon. Lad was a licensed professional counselor and minister at North Plains Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jewel "Julie" Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Myra Boothbye; four sons, Jeremy Lad Boothby and wife Maricruz of Amarillo, Heath Michael Boothby and wife Samantha of Conway, Ark, Adam Scott Boothby of Guymon, Okla., Bret Higginbotham and wife Brandy of Carrollton; two daughters, Heather Diane Boothby of Guymon and Shea Porter and husband Jerry of Canyon; his father, D.C. Donald Victor Floyd
GRUVER - Donald Victor Floyd, 74, died Thursday, June 14, 2007.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Gruver United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Price and the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mr. Floyd was born Dec. 24, 1932, in Spearman. He married Elaine Daily on Jan., 18, 1953, and she died in 1992. He married Mavis Hart on June 1, 1999. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Gruver United Methodist Church.
Don was instrumental in installing state of the art coronary unit monitoring instruments at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock and Hansford Hospital in Spearman as well as many others.
Survivors include his wife, Mavis Floyd; two daughters, Donita Lusby and husband Ronnie of Spearman and Peggy Culp and husband Gary of Amarillo; a son, Mike Floyd and wife Suellen of Arlington; two stepdaughters, Kelley Richardson and husband Trace of Vega and Terri Breaux and husband Kevin of Austin; a stepson, Kevin Hart and wife Terry of Gruver; two brothers, Jerry Floyd and wife Shirley of Claude and J.D. Larry Len Bonham
Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Gruver Cemetery with Mike Wilhelm officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mr. Bonham was born July 11, 1957, to Jimmy Joe and Bonnie Bonham in Burkburnett. He moved to Gruver in 1969 and was a member of Gruver Church of Christ. As a young man, Mr. Bonham worked at the Holt Farm and then as a gas attendant for Darrel Shelton. Later he worked for Mr. Shelton in the oil field.

Fena Joyce Frost
Fena Joyce Frost, 73, died Friday, June 8, 2007.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the First United Methodist Church, Spearman, with the Rev. Ken Cole, St. Stephen Methodist Church, Amarillo, and the Rev. Neely Landrum, First United Methodist Church and John Scott officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Funeral Home.
Joyce was born September 9, 1933, to Harry Samuel and Grace Viola Bruner in Shamrock, Texas. She graduated from McLean High School in 1953 and moved to Amarillo to work and play professional basketball for Bob Dowell and the “Dowell’s Dolls.” Joyce along with her mother operated Wade’s Diner in Spearman for many years until Grace’s retirement in 1975. Many people in Spearman still remember their wonderful cooking. Joyce also worked for many years in the produce department at Lowes Grocery Store always having a smile on her face and willingness to help anyone. Joyce loved to bowl and participated in several bowling leagues along with some of her good friends. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Spearman. Joyce will be remembered for her great cooking and her sweet spirit.
Joyce married Gordon Keetch on July 21, 1956 and later married Harold J. Frost on April 15, 1972. Harold died April 20, 2000. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Grace Bruner, a brother, Bob Bruner, a sister, Betty Stephens and an infant daughter, Rhonda Joyce.
Survivors include: son Robbin Keetch and wife Lisa of Perryton and one daughter Tracie Burcham and husband Joey of Sublette, Kansas, four grandchildren, Brittany Yeary and husband Tyler, Lubbock, Laci Keetch, Perryton, Robyn Burcham and Weston Burcham both of Sublette, Kansas, two great-grandchildren, Jayden Rodriguez and Wyatt Yeary, one sister, Helen Melton and husband, Richard Melton, Spearman, one brother W.A. Bruner and wife Faye, Abilene and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ralph Delano "Del" Cluck
SPEARMAN - Ralph Delano "Del" Cluck, 72, died Monday, June 4, 2007.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Gruver United Methodist Church with the Rev. George Price officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Del was born Dec. 7, 1934, in Dalhart to Sam and Faye Cluck. Del grew up in Gruver and graduated from Gruver High School in 1953. After attending Texas Tech, Del returned to Gruver where he was involved in farming and ranching until his death.
He married Barbara Bort on June 22, 1956, in Gruver. For the first seven years of their marriage they made their home 20 miles west of Gruver. In 1953, they and their two children moved into Gruver, residing at 608 Womble until they built their home at 202 Etling, where they have resided ever since.
Del and Barbara had the wonderful opportunity to travel extensively during their marriage, visiting such places as Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, Europe and the Holy Land. They also enjoyed many golfing trips and played bridge every Wednesday and Sunday night for 40 years with their good friends, Buddy and Frances Murrell.
Del was a member of Gruver United Methodist Church and the Wesley Sunday School Class. For many years he was a member of the Methodist Men's Quartet, singing at numerous venues across the Panhandle, including Ceta Canyon, with Rod Barkley, Carlie Knight and Buddy Murrell. Until his eyesight failed, he played the piano for Sunday church services and sang in the church choir. He served on the Gruver School Board from 1968 to 1974, serving as vice president from 1972 to 1974. For many years he served as president of Gruver Elevator Inc. and S&C Grain Co. Because he saw firsthand the blessing of the hospice program, he participated in the hospice training and served as a volunteer until his health began to fail.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Ralph and Beulah Bort; and a brother-in-law, Jim Jones.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 51 years, Barbara ; a daughter, Nanette Haines and husband Tom of Roswell, N.M.; a son, Brad Cluck and wife Mary of Amarillo; three granddaughters, Bennett and Maison Haines of Roswell and Maddie Cluck of Amarillo; a grandson, Samuel Cluck of Amarillo; three sisters, Pat Burleson and husband Andy of Gruver, Sammie Hurt and husband Mike of Amarillo and Mary Lou Mathews and husband Steve of Spearman; a sister-in-law, Peggy Jones of Hillsborough, Calif.; two aunts, Lou Cluck of Amarillo and Dorris Cluck of Spearman; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and "his" dog, Pooh Bear.

“Rocky” Ronald John Antalek
Ronald John "Rocky" Antalek
Ronald "Rocky" Antalek was born March 29, 1932, to Frank R. and Elizabeth Hranek Antalek. After a long illness he passed peacefully from this life on May 30, 2007. Family and friends are deeply grateful to the Hayesville (KS) Healthcare Center and Trinity Hospice personnel who cared for Rocky and his needs with devoted attention. Rocky was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Lackland AFB ('50-'51). He fell in love with Texas and after his discharge, remained in Texas, mainly Gruver. Other places he lived for a short time were Higgins, Pampa, Perryton, Bovina and Lubbock, returning only briefly to his place of birth, Endicott (NY) and to Buffalo (NY) where he grew into his teen years. In his later years, Rocky moved to Mobile (AL), his health deteriorated, so his son Terry moved him to Wichita (KS). He became a good mechanic and handyman, but Rocky's passion was music. He composed music and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing with friends. He touched many lives. Grandson, Micah preceded him in death.
Survivors include sons Ronnie Lee and wife Beverly of Spearman, Terry Lynn and wife Khrista of Wichita (KS), stepdaughters Brenda and husband Don Fielding of Plano (TX), and Tonya and husband Mike Yanke of Gruver (TX), and several grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers Robert and wife Mary Antalek of Bellevue, Ohio, Francis and wife Mary Jo Antalek of Toledo Ohio, sister, Mary Ann Geampa of Hamburg (NY), stepsister Gayle and husband Joseph Deskovich and stepbrother Gregory Antalek both of Lement (Ill). Several aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews cherish his memory also along with the family of Todd and Ann Browning of Channing (TX) and many other friends.
There will be no formal services, as Rocky asked his remains be used for education.

Alice Faye Miller
SPEARMAN - Alice Faye Miller, 63, died Friday, June 1, 2007.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2007 in Hansford Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Elder officiating. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mrs. Miller was born March 22, 1944, in Spearman. She married Bill L. Miller on February 9, 1957, in Raton, N.M.
She was a lifetime Spearman resident and a caregiver.
Survivors include her husband, Bill L. Miller; two daughters, Cynthia Burton of Spearman and Patricia Wyrick and husband James of Amarillo; a son, Billy L. Miller II and wife Martina of Spearman; three brothers, George Rex and wife Tina of Spearman, Gene Rex and wife Ada of Canadian and Ronald Rex and wife Joy of Pampa; two sisters, Brenda Vera and husband Johnny and Sybil Vera and husband Ruben, all of Spearman; a sister-in-law, Lola Durfey of Joplin, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of friends.

GRUVER - L.A. Williams, 81, died on Sunday, May 27, 2007.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Gruver Cemetery with Gaylord Cook officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mr. Williams was born on Octoer 3, 1925 in Reynolds County, Texas. He married Farene Odom on August 23, 1946 in Borger. He was a farmer and a veteran of Navy and World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Farene, of the home; two sons, Morris Williams of Payson, Az and Neal Williams of Gruver; a daughter, Brenda Henderson of Freising, Germany; a sister, Jackie Smith of Granbury; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Cleta Copenhaver Casdorph
GRUVER - Cleta Copenhaver Casdorph, 81, died on Sunday, May 20, 2007.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Church of Christ in Gruver with Gaylord Cook officiating. Interment will be in Gruver Cemetery under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.
Cleta was born on April 1, 1926 in Sayre, Oklahoma. She married Charley Adam Casdorph on September 28, 2946 in Sayre, OK.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Gruver.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rollie and Dollie Copenhaver, and her husband, Charley, in 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Charley Casdorph, Jr. and Rex Casdorph, both of Gruver; three daughters, Brenda Pratt of Gruver and Judy Martin and Renee McWhirter, both of Dalhart; a sister, Nadie Burks of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Ruby Collingsworth
PERRYTON - Ruby Collingsworth, 83, died Monday, May 14, 2007.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Holt school house, 13 miles south of Spearman on FM 281 and three miles west, with Dwain Read officiating. Burial will be in Holt Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
Mrs. Collingsworth was born March 1, 1924, in Hutchinson County. She married Tip Collingsworth on Nov. 29, 1944, in Oklahoma.
Survivors include a son, Bruce Collingsworth of Arlington; a daughter, Mary Helen Coates of Perryton; two brothers, Ervin Lamb of Tucumcari, N.M., and Bob Lamb of Stephenville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchldren.

Barbara Bess O'Rear Replogle
PERRYTON - Barbara Bess O'Rear Replogle, 74, died Friday, May 11, 2007.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry Danley officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.
Mrs. Replogle was born March 31, 1933, in Wellington to Wallace and Katie O'Rear. She was school nurse in Perryton for 24 years. She worked at Sanford and Ochiltree General Hospitals as a registered nurse.
She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was proud of all her grandchildren and their many accomplishments.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Replogle, her parents, two brothers, Junior and S.A. O'Rear and a sister, Dortha Cheatham.
Survivors include a daughter, Tina Clyburn and husband Craig of Spearman; two sons, Dan and Jeanette Replogle of Clovis, N.M., and Mark and Gina Replogle of Denton; a brother, William O'Rear of Wellington; two sisters, Margie Uselton of Wellington and Marie Hammes of Rowlett; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Gordon Harold Cummings
AMARILLO - Gordon Harold Cummings, 73, of Amarillo, died Thursday, May 10, 2007.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. with the Rev. Ken Cole, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.
Mr. Cummings was born Jan. 18, 1934, to Littleton and Ruth Cummings. He graduated from Guymon High School in 1951, and from Oklahoma State A&M in 1957. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Suisun from 1952-1954, and served in the Reserves until January 7, 1960. He owned Cummings Refrigeration in Spearman from April 1962 until he retired in 1999. He worked for the City of Amarillo for five years.
He was an avid fisherman and loved his family and his work.
We would like to thank Dr. Zorsky and all of his staff for all of their care and support.
He was preceded in death by his father, Littleton Harold Cummings; and a sister, Donna Gaye Thompson.

Denny Ray Brewer
WAKA - Denny Ray Brewer, 42, formerly of Waka, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19, in First Christian Church in Spearman with the Rev. Jim Reeves officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mr. Brewer was born Nov. 3, 1964, in Pampa. He lived in Albuquerque, N.M., moving from Lubbock. He was a construction worker.
Denny grew up in Waka, and attended grade school through middle school there. He played sports but loved playing basketball for the Waka Cubs. He later attended high school in Spearman. One of his mentors was Mrs. Marsha Murphy.
Some of his favorite hobbies were arrowhead hunting, fishing, hunting and drawing and painting. One of his treasured memories was going to Canada to fish with his dad. He loved his family and his son, Cyrus. He was an outstanding artist, always making different types of artwork.
Our brother, son, nephew, cousin and friend will be greatly missed. Our comfort is knowing he is now with our father.
Survivors include his parents, Ray and Sandy Brewer of Lake Texoma, Texas; a son, Cyrus Allen Brewer of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Denies McElroy and husband Leo of Spearman and Cathy Schick; a brother, Michael Dean "Deno" Brewer of Dallas; three nieces, Jenna McElroy of Canyon, Harley Brewer and Kayla Brewer; and two nephews, Kade Turner and Rhiley Turner.

Donnie Hill
Guymon, Oklahoma – Donnie Hill, 56, passed away Sunday evening, May 6th, 2007 at his home.
The son of Ruby Jane (Peterson) and Clifford Raymond Hill, he was born June 8, 1950 in Guymon. He was baptized into the Christian faith on July 30, 1950 at the Oslo Lutheran Church and was confirmed there on May 23, 1965. Donnie graduated from Gruver High School with the Class of 1968. He was united in marriage to Carol Ann Seil Weippert on August 3, 2003 at Oslo Lutheran Church.
Donnie Hill was many things. He was a master craftsman and was honored with his life size sculpture of “The Plainsman” at the entrance of Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell. He was an artist, a skilled carpenter, an avid sportsman, and a talented musician. He was a fiddler for the not-so-famous band, Soggy Bottom Boys. He was also a lifelong University of Texas Longhorn fan. Donnie loved life and lived it to the fullest. His family, friends, church and faith were what mattered.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; parents, Ruby and Clifford Hill of Guymon; daughter, Kelli Hill Blad and husband, Michael Blad of Stillwater, OK; a son, Bobby Fields of Tulsa, OK; two step-daughters, Catie Weippert of the home; and Tiffany Weippert Brzara and husband, Rich Brzara and their children, Joshua and Alyssa of Chicago, IL; one step-son, Dane Weippert of the home; a sister, Judy Hill Larch and husband, Paul Larch of Colorado Springs, CO; and two grandsons, Braedy and Brett Fields of Guymon.
His grandparents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning, May 10th at 10:30 AM at Oslo Lutheran Church with Pastor Arlan Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow in Oslo Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon.
Visitation will be Wednesday from noon to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

SPEARMAN - Homero Munoz, 23, died Sunday, May 6, 2007.

Homero was born on May 7, 1983 in Spearman. He was a manager at Nacho’s Restaurant in Amarillo and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Spearman. He was a 2002 graduate of Spearman High School, and was a student at West Texas A&M University.

Bob Shill
GRUVER - Bob Shill, 78, died Monday, May 7, 2007.

Bob was born on August 11, 1928 in Birmingham, Alabama. He married Sue Miller on October 11, 1986 in Perryton. He was a pump technician and a member of the Methodist Church. He worked for HRM (a division of Halliburton) for many years.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Margaret Shill, and a brother, Claude Shill, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Shill, of Gruver; a daughter, Kathleen Dunlap of Birmingham. Alabama and a son, Bob Shill, Jr., of Birmingham, Alabama; two stepdaughters, Tonni Vanke of Gruver and Brenda Fielding of Plano; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Elmon "Jake" Jacobs
SPEARMAN - Elmon "Jake" Jacobs, 88, died Saturday, May 5, 2007.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007 in Hansford Cemetery with Mike Nixon officiating. Arrangements were by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.
Mr. Jacobs was born Jan. 3, 1919, near Elmwood, Okla. He married Alteena Harvey in 1955, in Woodward, Okla. She died in 1992. He married Helen Spalding in 1995 in Pampa. He was a 1935 graduate of Spearman High School and an army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Jacobs is a member of Jehovahs Witness Church in Perryton. He was employed by Spearman Post Office for 18 years, serving 11 years as postmaster and retired in 1976.
Elmon was an avid gardner and was a purple martin enthusiast with 50 pairs nesting in his backyard
Survivors include his wife, Helen Jacobs; five grandchildren, Jeff Jacobs and wife Ginger of Spiro, Okla., Jennifer Maddox and husband Ricky of Fort Smith, Ark., Tom Bowman and wife Cheryl of Denver, Dian Oakes and husband Steven of Allen and Mike Pack and wife Teresa of Spearman; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ledru Jacobs of Denver and Jerry Jacobs of Gonzales.

"J.R." James Roy Austin
CHILDRESS - "J.R." James Roy Austin, 62, died Saturday, May 5, 2007.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2007 in Childress Cemetery with the Rev. Kerry Wood of Childress and the Rev. Neely Landrum of Spearman officiating. Arrangements were by Johnson Funeral Home.
James Roy was born Feb. 8, 1945, in Childress County to Roy Buford and Mary Crawford Austin.
J.R. was a cowboy who farmed and was appreciated for his laid back disposition and dry sense of humor. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Ann Lasater and husband Jack of Spearman; two nieces, Laci Murray and husband Bobby of Amarillo and Mendy Riggins and husband Chad of Lubbock; a nephew, Cass Lasater of Spearman; and special friends, Ted Jones and wife Lisa of Childress.

Charlie Alexander "C.A." Davis Jr.
GRUVER - Charlie Alexander (C.A.) Davis, Jr., passed away Thursday, May 3, 2007 at the Hansford Hospice in Spearman, Texas.
The son of Thelma (Kegans) and Charlie Alexander Davis, he was born April 8, 1930 in Gruver, Texas. C.A. was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Air Force from 1951-1954. He was united in marriage to Geraldine O’Brien on December 31, 1953 in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada. C.A. returned with his bride to Hansford County where he was involved in farming and ranching. He recently joined Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spearman, Texas.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gerry Davis of the home; his daughter, Barbara Stavlo and husband Paul; three sons, Bob Davis and wife, Cathy; Buster Davis and wife, Krista; all of Gruver; and Wayne Davis and wife, Brenda of Canyon, Texas. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Charlie and Sammie Stavlo; Nathan Kirk; Michaela, Blaise, Luke, and Jobi Davis; Monte, Halee and Logan Davis; Joshua and Ben Shields and Whitney Brown; and great grandchildren, Alexander Davis, Andrew Shields, Ashton and Catch Brown; and more friends than you can shake a stick at.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Christine Ann and John Brien; two sisters, Rosalie Cator and Vera May (Tubby) Hays; and two brothers, Warren Davis and Jim Davis.
Graveside services were Saturday afternoon, May 5th at 2:00 p.m. at the Gruver Cemetery with Father Jose Gomez officiating. Services were under the care of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon.

Lenora Rivers Brown Stavlo
DUMAS - Lenora Rivers Brown Stavlo, 96, of Dumas, died Thursday, April 26, 2007.
Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007 in First Baptist Church of Sunray with Philip Hilton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.
Lenora graduated from West Texas State Teachers College in 1929 and taught grades 1-4 at the Childress school, west of Tulia, until she married Arthur B. Stavlo on June 8, 1932, in Stratford. He preceded her in death in 1983. She was a devout Christian and a member of First Baptist Church of Sunray, where she served as director of the junior department for 19 years. She will be missed dearly by all those who knew her.
