Editors Note...
Freedom of speech is one of the guarantees of the First Amendment of our Constitution, so we encourage readers to express themselves, even if we don’t agree with what is said. However, freedom involves responsibility. Therefore, the only letters we will consider publishing are from individuals who are willing for their names to appear with the letter. Letters must contain the telephone number, address and a personal signature of the writer (for verification purposes only).
We will not knowingly publish any letter containing libelous or slanderous statements, or factually incorrect information. Letters containing language or content that we feel is inappropriate will not be published.
Examples of content that will cause letters to be rejected include the following: Confusing or unclear points; Crude language; Poor taste; Disrespectful comments regarding a group's or individual's ethnicity, gender, religion, culture, sexual orientation or race; Other incendiary language or remarks; Endorsements for or complaints about individually named commercial products or services.
“Letters To The Editor,” like all materials submitted to this newspaper, are subject to editing for space and clarity. The publication of any letter or article is the decision of the Editor and Publisher.
