Notice is hereby given that the Commissioner’s Court of Hansford County, Texas, will meet on the 14th day of April, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in the Law Library in the Courthouse in the City of Spearman, Texas. The subjects for discussion and/or action are listed on the agenda, which is attached to and made a part of this notice.

For April 14, 2008
The following will be presented for action:
1. Approval of minutes. Approval of minutes from March 24, 2008 Hansford County Commissioners Court Meeting.
2. Approval of Treasurer’s report: Approval of expenditures and receipts from previous court date.
3. Payment of claims. Review and approve payment of previous month’s bills, including any part-time, overtime, or holiday salary payables.
4. Auditor’s Monthly financial statement: Monthly summary of the County budget position.
5. Department reports: Review and Approve reports from County Offices.
6. Discuss/Approve rescinding Burn Ban or extending. Add written agricultural exemption protocol.
7. Approve sale of packer to City of Spearman.
8. Approve changes in handbook policy concerning cell phones, uniforms, meals and vehicles.
9. Advertise for gravel bids. Consider paving needs for all four Precincts.
10. Approve water pipeline easement for Hansford County Feeders.
11. Resolution supporting expedited development of competitive renewable energy zones. Support resolution including infrastructure to export wind power from West Texas.
12. Discuss/Approve salary for Dispatchers. Review existing salary schedule prior to hiring new dispatcher.

Ginger Pittman

Ginger Pittman was appointed to the Board in April 2000.  As President, she serves on all committees.  Her current term expires March 31, 2008.  Mrs. Pittman lives in Spearman.
 
Vice-President:
S. Randall Sauer

Randall Sauer was appointed to the Board in April 2001.  He serves on the Joint Conference, Budget & Finance, and Executive Committees.  Mr. Sauer's current term expires March 31, 2009.  Mr. Sauer lives in Spearman.
 

Secretary-Treasurer:
Pat Irwin

Pat Irwin was appointed to the Board in April 2000.  She serves on the Joint Conference Committee, the Building & Grounds, and the Executive Committees, and the Executive Committee.  Her current term expires March 31, 2008.  Mrs. Irwin lives in Gruver.
 
Board Director:
  Vicki Urban

Vicki Urban was appointed to the Board in April 2004 to fill the unexpired term of Randy Reid.  She serves on the Building & Grounds Committee.  Mrs. Urban's current term expires March 31, 2009.  Mrs. Urban lives in Morse.

Ryan Davis

Ryan Davis was appointed to the Board in November 2005 to fill the unexpired term of Jason Duvall.  Mr. Davis' current term expires March 31, 2008.  Mr. Davis lives in Spearman.

Kevin Babbs

Kevin Babbs was appointed to the Board in January 2007 to fill the unexpired term of Val Winger.  Mr. Babbs' current term expires March 31, 2009.  He lives in Gruver.
 

The Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month in Hansford Hospital's Board Room.
The November and December meeting dates may be changed to accommodate Thanksgiving
and Christmas holidays. Other meetings may be changed to ensure a quorum.

 The meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted.

Agendas will be posted on the Hansford County Hospital District web page in addition to:
Hansford County Court House, the front entrance of the Hospital and both entrances of the Board Room.
In the event the meeting is to be held in another location, an agenda will also be posted there.

Hansford Hospice Volunteers Meeting

Hansford Hospice Volunteers met on March 10, 2008, at Gruver State Bank, Gruver, Texas.

President, Verna Lee Shirley, presided over the meeting.

The minutes of the February meeting were read and approved.

The Treasurer, Pat Sutterfield, reported on Memorials.

Staci Ruga passed out cards she designed to be left in patient’s rooms when they are asleep that say a volunteer has been to visit.

Verna Lee Shirley, Jeanie Pearcy, Rosetta Barrera and Staci Ruga attended the Texas-New Mexico Hospice convention in Santa Fe. Dr. Garnett and Mrs. Garnett also attended the convention.

Staci Ruga and Jeanie Pearcy presented the program on the “The Eleventh Hour” from information presented at a conference at the recent Hospice convention in New Mexico.

It was reported that Hospice training classes will begin Thursday, March 13th, in the Church of Christ Fellowship Hall. Hospice is still signing up people who are interested in attending the classes. Anyone who is interested should call 659-5811. Approximately 10 to 12 people have indicated an interest in taking the classes.

Staci Ruga reported that the new padded folding chairs ordered by Hospice for the Hospice rooms are in but have not been unpacked.

Garland Hopper moved that a new special mattress specially designed for Hospice patients be ordered to be used in the Hospice rooms. Carolyn Hicks seconded the motion and it passed.

Karen Thompson will be the new Hospice program chairman.

Nelle Evans moved that Hospice Volunteers pay the $50.00 for Dr. Garnett to become a member of the Texas Hospice Palliative Care Association. Jo Linda Hutchison seconded the motion and it passed.

The Hospice Golf Tournament to raise funds for Hospice will be June 7th.

The meeting was adjourned.
