Gladiola Flower Club

March 13, 2008
The Gladiolal Flower Club met on March 13, 2008 at the Bunkhouse Restaurant for the Spring luncheon.
Chairman Dorothy Buzzard called the meeting to order. Margarette Evans presented the 2008 yearbook.
Muriel Boyd made a motion to give $50 to Project Graduation, Betty Jean Davis seconded, motion carried.
Chairman Buzzard asked for additional ideas to use club money and discussed ways to help with city clean-up.
Project Chairman Estelle Jackson began sign-up for April Meals on Wheels.
Kathleen Sutton read a thank you from the Stationamaster’s House Museum.
Dues were collected.
Hosts were Norma Jean Mackie, Judy Yarbrough, June JAckson, Virginia Trindle, Dorothy Buzzard, Estelle Jackson, Ann Allen, Betty Jean Davis and Gwen Smith. Guests were Muriel B oyd, Margarette Evans, Ann Flowers, Helen Holot, Sabrina Landrum, Eloise Renner, Pam Schnell and Kathleen Sutton.


April 3, 2008
The Gladiola Flower Club met in the home of Ann Flowers on April 3, 2008.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dorothy Buzzard.
Roll Call was answered with “An Easter Tradition.”
Muriel Boyd made the motion to change the Scholarship to $500 per semester. Pam Schnell seconded; the motion carried. Some additional ideas were discussed for applications. No action was taken.
Muriel boyd won Home Grown Arrangement.
Judy Yarbrough gave the oprogram on “Irish Folding,” with each participating making an apple.
Those present were Pam Schnell, Betty Jean Davis, Muriel Boyd, Gwen Smith, Ann Allen, Eloise Renner, Judy Yarbrough, June Jackson, Dorothy Buzzard, Estelle Jackson, Sabrina Landrum and Ann Flowers.


April 17, 2008
The Gladiola Flower Club met in the home of Estelle Jackson on April 17, 2008.
Chairman Dorothy Buzzard presided. Roll Call was answered with “A Need in Our Community.”
The Meals on Wheels volunteer calendar was completed.
Suggestions were made to update the scholarship appllication forms. Completed applications were given to each member. The selection will be made on May 1st.
The plant winner was Estelle Jackson.
Estelle Jackson also gave the program on the “History of Hansford County.”
Those present were Ann Allen, Eloise Renner, Dorothy Buzzard, Muriel Boyd, Betty Jean Davis, Norma Jean Mackie, Judy Yarbrough, June Jackson, Sabrina Landrum, Estelle Jackson and Margarette Evans.


May 1, 2008
The Gladiola Flower Club met in the home of Muriel Boyd on May 1, 2008.
Chairman Dorothy Buzzard presided. Rooll Call wa answered by “Best Buy I Ever Made.”
Kathleen Sutton read a thank you from Project Graduation.
Estelle Jackson reported she had talked to City Hall and sked what the Club might do help with city-wide clean-up.
Muriel Boyd made a motion that the scholarlship of $500 per semester be effective immediately, seconded by June Jackson, motion carried.
A very interesting program on fresh and artificial flower arrangements, courtesy of All Occasion Flowers, was given by Ted TeBe3est.
Flower winners were: Arrangement - June Jackson, Specimen - Ann Flowers, House Plant - Muriel Boyd.
Those present were Dorothy Buzzard, Betty Jean DAvis, Gwen Smith, Eloise Renner, June Jackson, Estelle Jackson, Muriel Boyd, Helen Holt, Kathleen Sutton, Ann Flowers, MArgarette Evans, and guest Kay Wade.
