Thank You! God saw he was getting tired And a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around him And whispered, "Come with Me." With tearful eyes we watched him suffer And saw him fade away, Although we loved him dearly We could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating Hard working hands to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. - Author Unknown

Thank You! Our family experienced three wonderful months with our special little Mary in Hansford Manor and the Hospice program. It was a blessed time for us to witness the true love of Christ. He is so present in that place, working through the nurses, aides, activities people, volunteers, custodians, cafeteria people and Dr Garnett. They are truly carrying out the works of mercy in feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, bathing and clothing the naked, visiting the sick and burying the dead. It’s as if Jesus is there washing the feet of the residents There are so many angels and unsung heroes here in our very midst. We are grateful to God for the experience and all that He taught us through Mary. We thank everyone in Hansford County for the love and sweetness shown toward Mary her entire life. Thank you for all the food, cards and visits during our time of need A special thanks to Hospice for meals and visits and to Dr. Garnett for guidance. We are especially grateful for the wonderful health care facilities in Spearman. Hattie Venneman Davis & Family; Linda & Joe T Venneman & Family --------------------------------
Thank You! Thank you for all the flowers, food, donations, prayers and visits for Ira Harbour. Spearman, Perryton, Morse, Wolf Creek, Gruver, Stinnett and Morse communities are all so kind and generous. The Family of Ira Harbour -------------------------------- Thank You! Dear Sponsor, You have come through again! What would elementary school PTO do without you? This year we would not have money to function on for the 2008-2009 school. Your donations this year were so awesome that we were able to off set 95% of our expense for the track meet concession stand. Having made money this year, the kiddos will benefit from more cultural enrichment activities in the new school year. Your continued support means more than we can say and with the increased cost of living across the board you have made what we thought would be impossible possible. Hut thanks go to: Palo Duro Feeders, First State Bank, Lions Club, Golden Spread Sales, Brock Insurance, First National Bank, Five Star Equipment, Hansford Implement, Alco, Lowes, Wal-Mart, Borger, Sam’s Club, Gordon’s Drug (you sweetie David), and last but not least for an abundance of water, Agco. Without your help dear sponsors we truly could not have made this track meet concession stand work. We deeply appreciate you all. Sincerely, The Spearman Elementary P.T.O. Board. Tellie Crum, Charlotte Jasper, Olivia Salgado, Haley Shields, Tabatha Thoms, Karen Servantes, Krisiti Jarvis, Liz Miser, and Cindy Blackman -------------------------------- Thank You! Volunters, without you, nothing happens! We started and got rained out for the elementary track meet on May 7. However that did not keep the dads and moms from feeding the students at Gus Birdwell Elementary School. The dads in the rain cooked burgers and hot dogs, the moms assembled and packed bags and ran them to the school. It was quite a soggy experience. Roger Buchanan, Will (Magic Flipper) Jarvis-the man who is always there, and Jerry Jasper got us through. You gentlemen truly went above and beyond. On Track Meet Day, May 15th, it was beautiful. Will was once again there with his magic flipper with the help of John Garnett. Once again, great hotdogs and hamburgers had by all. The moms on both days were amazing! You know who you are! It was so fun to be together visiting and working for the good of the children. You are all just wonderful! Volunteers make things happen! Thank you from PTO! --------------------------------

Thank You! My name is Sergio Vargas. I have lived in Spearman since 1979. I grew up in a large city and let me tell you, raising a family in a small town is the greatest. I have done many things in my life, autobody repair, musician, fireman, but the most rewarding for me has been as director of Cristo Redentor Youth Group. We started working with the youth around 1998 with high school students only. Our attendance was about 10 kids including 2 of my own. This year (2007/2008) there are approximately 50 registered kids. We meet every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Cristo Redentor Catholic Church in Gruver. Being a teen today is so hard. Our kids need to know that they are not alone, and if they fall we are here to help them up. There are rallies, meetings and help on any topic the kids may need. You probably know that all of these projects cost money. We had a fund raiser car wash Saturday April 5 and I want to thank everyone from the kids that showed up, to our clean up crew, but especially THANK YOU very much to all the kind people who donated their time and money to support a great cause, the future leaders of our church and state. A special thank you to Mr. Williams for donating a car to raise funds for the youth group. If you would like to donate, please mail to: Cristo Redentor Youth Group PO Box 472 Spearman, Texas 79081 attention: Sergio Vargas.
