If you would like to make a contribution you may make a deposit with any teller or mail a donation to H&H Federal Credit Union, 104 Main Street, Stinnett TX 79083. -------------------------------------- Project Graduation 2009 The parents of the Spearman High School Class of 2009 will sponsor and host a "Project Graduation Party" following commencement exercises Friday May 29th. Graduates will be provided with food, games, activities, and fun! In addition, to encourage the graduates to stay the entire night, door prizes are awarded throughout the evening. The graduation party will culminate with the distribution of grand prizes. Prizes, gift certificates, and cash are needed for the evening's gifts. The cost of the yearbook is $35. All Spearman students should have an order form. Anyone wishing to purchase a yearbook without an order form, may do so at any school principal's office. There will be no extra yearbooks ordered, so it is important that everyone place your order before March 13th. It's probably coming from internet thieves looking to steal your personal information, like credit card or bank account numbers. "Many folks have tax refunds coming back this time of year, and crooks might take advantage of that fact," said Clay Sanford, a Dallas IRS spokesman. "We just don't send unsolicited e-mails about any subject, including refunds." Sanford said if the IRS needs to contact you, they will generally send a notice or letter through the U. S. Mail. I’d like to invite you to encourage your juniors and seniors interested in our university to register for one of these events. Discover WT is free and students will receive t-shirts and free tickets to an athletic or arts event held on campus that evening. This semester’s events will be: held on February 21 and April 3. (The way that the school calendar is set for this year, our usual day to have Baccalaureate, May 24, falls on the weekend of a national holiday; May 17, the band and seniors will be returning from trips; May 10 is Mother’s Day with the Prom being held on May 9.) We have checked with all the churches and the Pastors who participate in the Baccalaureate service, and they all agree that May 13 would be an excellent time to have it. Commencement will be on Friday, May 29, at 8:00. Hopefully this early notification will be helpful when making plans. Please help us earn free education equipment by collecting these items. -------------------------------------- Beware of FAFSA Web Scam Seniors, senior parents, and parents of college students should use the web site www.fafsa.ed.gov when filling out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. There is currently a website that has found an interesting way to get in the college-bound’s pocket. Known as fafsa.com, the website charges a fee for submitting the application. Breast cancer affects one in eight women. The key to winning the battle against cancer is early detection by having an annual breast exam, mammogram and performing a breast self-exam each month. Funding is available through the Texas Department of Health for Texas residents who qualify for assistance. All exams are done by appointment only.
