SHS Graduation
Commencement exercises for Spearman High School will be held Friday, May 29, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Spearman High School Auditorium.
Ashley Close, valedictorian, and Cha’tae Avila, salutatorian, will head a class of 58 students.
The processional and recessional will be played by Mrs. Carol Pack with T.J. Worley giving the invocation.
The Class of 2009 will make a special presentation followed by the introduction of guests by Superintendent Rodney Sumner.
The salutatory address by Cha’tae Avila will be followed by the valedictory address by Ashley Close. The Class of 2009 History will be read by Jordan Ashmore.
High School Counselor Krista Baird will recognize both the honor students of the class and the scholarship recipients, with Bret Burgin presenting the Spearman Foundation Scholarships.
The presentation of diplomas will be by Dwayne Mitchell, president of the Spearman School Board and Bill Belger, High School Principal.
Following the Charge to the Class of 2010 by Jordan Ashmore, Sutten Garnett will accept the charge on behalf of her classmates, the class of 2010.
After the school song, Bond Pittman will give the benediction.

Who’s Who: Ten seniors are chosen by the faculty each year for Who's Who in Spearman High School. To be eligible for consideration, a student must have a 3.00 or above average in academic work, participate in extracurricular activities, and show great promise for future development. Lynn Vela, valedictorian, and Veronica Teal, salutatorian, will lead a class of 31 students.

The processional will be presented by pianist Mrs. Kathy Gillispie with Paarker Grotegut and Blake Fitzgearld and freshman Tadeo Mendoza presenting the colors.
After the Pledge of Allegiance, Matt Salazar will give the invocation followed by the salutatory address presented by Veronica Teal.
Miles Messer will give the class history, followed by special music presented by Jordan Hicks. The valedictory address will be given by Lynn Vela.
After the awarding of scholarships by Darlene Curry (high school counselor), the seniors will be presented by high school principal Troy Seagler as they are awarded their diplomas by superintendent David Teal and school board president Dwayne Thompson.
Following the school song, Marisol Hernandez will give the benediction.
Serving as honor guards will be junior students Kate Gibson and Drew Mireles. Megan Stedje, Caleb Miller, Leigh Anne Winger and Gabriel MEndoza will be serving as ushers.
A reception honoring the seniors will be held in the school cafeteria following graduation.
